The family that owns this property was in the process of
excavating away the top of the small hill to make way for a construction
site. They had removed about 15' of soil when they encountered a layer of
sandstone. The dinosaur tracks were discovered when some of the sandstone
blocks were overturned. |
The family is now taking turns staying at the excavation
site to protect the findings from vandals. |

passageway called "Wall Street". |

Portions of the shaded trail were wet clay or snow packed. We debated
which were the more slippery :-) |

A deer near the North Rim of the Grand
Canyon |
Carol photographed this curious wild turkey out the window
of our car. |

We were impressed by this huge fireplace at the National
Park lodge. |
Our first visit to the more remote North Rim of the Grand
Canyon. Only 12 miles as the crow flys from the South Rim but over two
hundred miles and 5 hours by car. |
|
Round trip was 1,843 miles, the longest yet in our Avion. Averaged 14
miles/gallon overall. The biggest problem was clever Jerry left the 30 amp power
cord with 'special connections' at home. We used candles the first night then
rigged up a 15 amp extension cord with both ends male for the balance of our
stay.
