After meeting Pat, visiting with cousins and seeing some of the San Francisco sights, we boarded the Dawn Princess cruise thanks to Jane and Tom!

Our first port-of-call is Avalon on Santa Catalina Island.
Avalon was an interesting little town where most of the vehicles were gasoline powered golf carts.

After Santa Catalina, we had two days at sea. The formal night picture was taken in the ship's atrium. Later Carol was called on stage for the juggler to make her sketch while juggling.

The water was a bit cool for swimming at the Puerto Vallarta Beach.

We had lunch at the El Dorado and watched the para sailors.

The baskets were pretty but if you showed any interest, all the vendors would swamp you.
Our dining room maitre de told us about a nice resort. It was fun swimming under the bridges. Not shown are the half submerged built in chaise lounges.
Leaving Puerto Vallarta, we cruised overnight to Mazatlan.

We had lunch at the Las Flores, did a bit of shopping then back to the ship for an overnight cruise to Cabo San Lucas.
The ship anchored and we had tender service to shore. Los Arcos, the southern most tip of the Baja Peninsula is in the background.
Marina at Cabo San Lucas and short road at bottom to beach hotels.

Gorgeous beach on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas. Signs were posted not to go in the water due to strong currents.

Leaving Cabo San Lucas and Mexico, bound for San Diego
Mike met us in San Diego. We took Kate to the airport and then went sightseeing.

All good things come to an end. Our dinner waiters, Songyot and Thongphet, were great and it would have been nice to have taken them home with us!
