Cross Country Skiing on Sandia Crest
Jan. 23, 2007

The road up to Sandia Crest. It was about 22 degrees this afternoon but the road was plowed and salted.
Antenna farm at the top. Carol would never take a picture like this. Most of Albuquerque's TV, radio, microwave and ham antennas are located here. KKOB radio covers the majority of the State.
Ski tracks on the service road and Carol by the flocked Aspens.

The scenery was fantastic and we had the place almost to ourselves.
Can you believe how deep blue the sky is?
Relaxing on the benches at the restaurant.
Unfortuanately, the restaurant was closed so we made do with the snacks Carol had thoughtfully brought along.
Basking in the sun at 10,000'.

The ski area is only open Wed. through Sun.

This was a Tuesday so we had the place almost to ourselves.

This is the top of the tram. Another one of those pictures that Carol would never take :-)
The view West. Mt. Taylor is on the left horizon about 70 miles away.

It is now late afternoon and we are headed back.

This looks alot like a Christmas card scene.

We met John Salazar from Channel 7 News. He did a short video of us cross country skiing to air on the evening news in Feb.
Keep on smiling!
